New Delhi: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will conduct its scheduled working committee meeting today in Kolkata.
Despite having a 14-point agenda on its table, the main focus of board officials will be on matters related to the Indian Premier League, reports ESPNCricinfo.
Here are five critical issues that will be discussed by the all powerful working committee of the BCCI:
Future of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals
Board's working group will submit a report to the committee on the Lodha verdict. A roadmap for the cash-rich league will be discussed in detail. With several options at its disposal, the committee will debate all possible outcomes.
Head coach for Team India
This issue is slated to come up for discussion later in the day. Anurag Thakur had informed the media that the board would appoint a coach before the South Africa series. It is likely that he will brief the working committee about the same.
Conflict of interest
BCCI had asked all members to sign a 'no conflict of interest' declaration to ensure transparency in the functioning of the board. All the members are yet to put pen to paper on this matter, which is why this issue too is likely to come up during the meeting.
Domestic cricket matters
A string of important cricket matters regarding domestic cricket will be discussed by the working committee. Umpire appointments, revising ODI and T20 cricket formats and option of moving NCA out of Bengaluru will be the major talking points.
Compensation to senior cricketers and awarding central contracts to women cricketers will be finalized by the finance committee of the board.
