Fixing scandal is for ICC and PCB to deal: BCCI
New Delhi: The BCCI on Monday chose to remain mum on the `spot-fixing` scandal involving Pakistani players, saying the matter is for the ICC and the PCB to deal with.
"The PCB and ICC should look into this matter and they are capable of handling it," the BCCI`s media and finance committee chairman Rajiv Shukla, who is also a Congress MP, told reporters here.
The sting operation by a British tabloid, which shows a bookie boasting about paying bribes to seven Pakistani cricketers including captain Salman Butt, pacers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamir and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal, has created a storm in international cricket leading to an inquiry by the Scotland Yard.
The bookie also claims to have links with Indian bookmakers but Shukla said the BCCI can`t do anything about it as it is a matter for the police to investigate.
"The BCCI has got nothing to do with it. Even if some Indian bookies are involved, the Indian police will look into the matter," he said.
