London: After guiding England to number one Test spot, England coach Andy Flower will take a break and miss his side`s ODI against Ireland on August 25 but the Zimbabwean will return for the lone Twenty20 International and five-match ODI series against India.
This will be the first time Flower will miss an England game since he took over as coach in April 2009. He will spend some time with his family.
"England team director Andy Flower will be rested from the Ireland match before rejoining the England squad ahead of the NatWest International T20 fixture against India on August 31," an England and Wales Cricket Board statement said.
"England assistant coach Richard Halsall will stand in as team director for the Ireland match in Andy Flower`s absence," it said.
ECB will announce the squads for the NatWest Series ODI and NatWest International Twenty20 International match against India on August 20.
"The squads will cover England`s forthcoming ODI against Ireland to be played on August 25 in Dublin, the NatWest International Twenty20 against India on August 31 at Old Trafford and for the five-match NatWest Series," the ECB said.
"These squads do not include the two NatWest International Twenty20 fixtures against the West Indies to be played at the Kia Oval on September 23 and 25."
