Fourth day’s play to continue as scheduled at Lord’s: ICC

London: An alleged match-fixing scandal in the fourth Test between Pakistan and England notwithstanding, the ICC on Sunday said that the fourth day`s play will continue as scheduled at the Lord`s ground.

"No players nor team officials have been arrested in relation to this incident and the fourth Test match will continue as scheduled on Sunday.

"As this is now subject to a police investigation neither ICC, ECB, PCB nor the ground authority, the MCC, will make any further comment," an ICC statement said today.

"The International Cricket Council, the England and Wales Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board have been informed by the Metropolitan Police that a 35 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud bookmakers," the statement added.

The ICC also said that they are fully co-operating with the police in the investigation and has also involved its Anti Corruption and Security Unit.

"The Metropolitan Police have informed the ICC, ECB and PCB that their investigations continue and ICC, ECB and PCB, with the involvement of the ICC Anti Corruption and Security Unit, are fully assisting those enquiries," it said.

Earlier, Pakistan cricket was rocked by another fixing scandal with team management in England confirming that some players were under investigation by the Scotland Yard for having taken bribes for spot-fixing in the ongoing Test.
