New Delhi: Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly termed Greg Chappell as a stupid person after the latter was sacked as the selector of the Australian cricket team on Friday.
Ganguly, who lost his job after a bitter spat with the then coach Greg Chappell in 2005, said that it seemed Chappell has never learnt from his mistakes.
“He keeps making mistakes,” said the Bengal player during an interview with a leading Bengali newspaper.
“Chappell is like a dynamite. He explodes wherever he goes,” he said.
He also blamed Chappell for destroying the Indian cricket team as well as his career.
“He destroyed my career, he destroyed the Indian cricket team…he created a negative atmosphere in the dressing room.”
Taking a potshot at the former Australian batting great, Ganguly also said that his stand is finally vindicated. “I was targeted because I questioned him, I questioned his working style and intention.”
“It was due to him that India performed so badly in the 2007 World Cup,” added Ganguly.
