Harris keen to impress Oz selectors for Test comeback

Melbourne: Australian fast bowler Ryan Harris, who is recuperating from a stress fracture in his left ankle, is targeting a comeback in the Test series against Sri Lanka in August.

Harris had injured himself during the Ashes against England last year and also missed the recent World Cup on the Indian subcontinent.

The 31-year-old fast bowler, however, did use the Indian Premier League as an elongated fitness test.

“It was a great tournament to come back in and get my body used to bowling again, obviously being only four overs a few days apart. But to be bowling in short spurts, not to be able to get into a spell, was a downer,” a leading daily quoted Harris, as saying.

“It [pace] was still below par, but it was getting better,” he added.
