New Delhi: There was a huge sense of relief for former India fast bowler S Sreesanth who along with Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were acquitted on Saturday for charges in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing case.
After Saturday's verdict, Sreesanth stated that he hopes to make a comeback to cricket. He also added that he was waiting all this while for the judgment and wanted to play cricket for India again and is relieved finally.
Sreesanth further added that, “God has been extremely kind. Went through a lot and thanks to everyone for the support.”
Fellow acquitted cricketer Ajit Chandila stated that he hopes BCCI will allow him to play cricket again and that he had full faith in the judiciary.
Ankeet Chavan stated that he is taking one step at a time and wants to see how it goes. He also added thar he isn't thinking much and is relieved with the decision.
The Patiala House Court in Delhi on Saturday acquitted the trio of Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan.
Besides the 16 arrested, 20 others including the three Rajasthan Royals were also discharged in the case.
