Hussey has knee surgery, will miss England ODIs
Sydney: Cricket Australia says in-form batsman Mike Hussey has undergone surgery for a serious hamstring injury and will be replaced by Shaun Marsh in
Australia’s squad for the ongoing seven-match limited-overs series against England.
Australian team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said on Tuesday that while Hussey’s injury appeared to be minor soon after Australia’s win in the opening game, scans have since revealed he has detached a hamstring tendon from the inner side of his knee.
Kountouris said Hussey had corrective surgery on Tuesday and his availability for the next month’s World Cup in the Indian subcontinent will depend on his rehabilitation in coming weeks.
Marsh will play the next three limited-overs matches against England.
