New Delhi: Bengal skipper Manoj Tiwary stated on Saturday that he didn't do anything to provoke a fight against his Delhi counterpart, Gautam Gambhir.

Ugly scenes came to surface at Feroz Shah Kotla ground as rival captains had nearly came to exchanging blows during the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Bengal, here.

Tiwary stated after the day's play, “ I didnt do anything, everything is on video. Gautam Gambhir is a senior, so I respect him.”

Tiwary added that if someone crosses the line, he will not gfeel good about it obviously, when asked about the heated conversation with the Delhi skipper.

Tiwary further added that, “He (Gautam Gambhir) said a lot of things that went out of control.”

Meanwhile, Delhi skipper Gautam Gambhir looked annoyed when speaking to the media after having been asked about the incident.

Gambhir claimed that, “Nothing happened boss”, as he tried to avoid any further questions and sat in his car.

ANI posted a video of Gambhir who is seen rushing off when asked about the spat. 

Earlier in Kotla on Saturday, situation came to such a pass that umpire K Srinath had to come between the two players as Gambhir moved towards Tiwary to hit him and he also came charging at the Delhi skipper.

In fact in an unprecedented ugly gesture, Gambhir even pushed umpire Srinath, who was trying to get him out of the way to hit Tiwary.
