I have requested BCCI to take up the issue with ICC: Dalmiya
Kolkata: The Cricket Association of Bengal president Jagmohan Dalmiya tried to put up a brave front after the ICC announced its decision to remove the World Cup match between India and England which was scheduled to be held at Eden Gardens from February 27.
"I had a series telephonic conversations with BCCI president, secretary and tournament director Ratnakar Shetty. They have assured that they would take up the matter with the ICC. Personally, I still believe we can host the first World Cup match between India and England," the former ICC and BCCI president told the mediapersons today.
He also informed that the renovation work will continue. The state association has already sent a letter to BCCI president Shashank Manohar requesting him to take up the matter with the ICC.
"I expect a positive reaction within the next couple of days," Dalmiya said.
