ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: Australia vs Bangladesh - As it happened...

It's official now! After hours of waiting, the match has been abandoned.

Now sign of letting off, rain.

After recovering from his hamstring injury, Australia captain Michael Clarke was set to return to the team after missing the co-hosts' emphatic opening game win over England in Melbourne last weekend. But the tropical cyclone Marcia has all but put dampner in his return bid. By the way, Marcia is a category five storm which battered Queensland coast yesterday night, causing widespread devastation.

If the match is not happened, then there will be a no-result both Australia and Bangladesh will share a point each. And, more importantly, there is no toss yet.

Bad news, it's still raining. In between, catch the action from the other match of the day HERE. Pakistan are in dire straits against a resurgent West Indies side.

With people in Brisbane and surrounding areas warned to stock up on supplies and volunteers handing out sandbags in the Queensland capital, it looks highly likely that the match at the Gabba will be washed out.

The teams were forced to practice indoors on Friday and if the Pool A match does not get underway or is abandoned then they will be awarded a point each.

Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza said on the eve of the match that a washout would probably help their chances of reaching the quarter-finals from Pool A.

But, it would definitely be a blow to Clarke, who missed Australia`s 111-run drubbing of England last weekend and has only played a warm-up against the United Arab Emirates since sustaining a hamstring injury last December.
