Wellington: The International Cricket Council has launched the official website of the 2015 World, which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
This milestone coincided with the tournament launch events held on Tuesday in Melbourne and Wellington, at which the pools, host cities and fixtures were announced.
Containing all the latest information about the event to be held in February and March 2015, the site will be an essential source of tournament, ticketing, player/team/venue information, tour and travel packages for fans around the world.
"More than ever, cricket fans are engaging with cricket content, and each other, through digital platforms. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will be the most social cricket tournament ever and this launch marks the start of that conversation," ICC`s General Manager -- Commercial, Campbell Jamieson said in a statement.
"Fans can start planning their World Cup experience by registering now for tournament news and ticketing updates."
Come tournament time, the official match centre will be one of the most informative and interactive to date, allowing fans to follow live ball-by-ball coverage, including an exclusive interactive video scorecard, of all event matches.
Other exclusive features will be added to the website closer to the event.
The ICC Cricket World Cup website has been developed by global digital media company, Pulse Innovations Limited. Pulse specialises in the sports sector, providing Sports Federations and Media Publishers with a turn-key solution in the capture and delivery of sports content across internet-enabled devices.
