ICC official detained at Mumbai airport
Mumbai: ICC (International Cricket Council) Manager (Operations) J Patel was on Tuesday booked for violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) for carrying unaccounted money.
Earlier on Monday afternoon, Patel was detained at the international airport for allegedly carrying Rs 1.25 lakh unaccounted money, customs officials said.
Patel, who had boarded a flight to London, was offloaded from the plane and detained after the unaccounted money was found in his possession, they said, adding that the money was confiscated.
However, he was later released in the evening after he paid the fine, the officials said.
