Quinton de Kock departed. The South African charged down the wicket, but the sixth delivery of the over from the lanky Kiwi bowler kept rising, forcing the batsman to play the shot from an awkward position. Quinton de Kock c Luke Ronchi b Kyle Mills 4 (8b) =================================================== Over 2 || Score 10/0 First boundary. And the South Africa started with a single. Then, Hashim Alma played a defensive shot before taking a single off the third ball by guiding the ball towards third-man. De Kock tried to pierce the fifth ball through the point area. But Kane Williamson fielded, sliding towards his left side. A quite start from the Proteas. =================================================== Toss: New Zealand won the toss and have invited South Africa to bat first. And yes, Faf du Plessis was there at the toss and he is playing today. Here are the teams: New Zealand: Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, Brendon McCullum (capt.), Ross Taylor, Colin Munro, Corey Anderson, Luke Ronchi (wk), Nathan McCullum, Tim Southee, Kyle Mills, Mitchell McClenaghan South Africa: Quinton de Kock (wk), Hashim Amla, Fa du Plessis (capt.), AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, David Miller, Albie Morkel, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Imran Tahir, Lonwabo Tsotsobe =================================================== Chittagong: The big question ahead of New Zealand-South Africa clash here is the availability of the Proteas skipper, Faf du Plessis. The 29-year-old sat out of their opening fixture against Sri Lanka with a hamstring injury. They lost the match by five runs. So, taking on a confident New Zealand side without their regular skipper will be a big ask for the South Africans, if at all du Plessis fails his fitness test. It`s a must win match for the Proteas. A second successive defeat in the tournament will only meant an early exit, yet another failure in the world cups. A bane! In contrast, the Brendon Mc Cullum led-side, after the win over a highly-inspired English team -- thanks to some rain and Duckworth–Lewis method, will go for a kill to strengthen their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals. Their cause is also being served beautifully by the emergence of Corey Anderson and hosts of other youngsters.
