Sri Lanka and New Zealand are up against each other in a do-or-die match. Both the teams currently have four points from three matches and the team that wins the match today, will be through to the semis, with South Africa being the second team from Group 1. Sri Lanka were outshined in their previous game against England, where Alex Hales scored an incredible century and snatched the victory from them. Mahela and Dilshan were among the runs in the previous game, but the team would want them to score runs convincingly, as even though Mahela scored 89 runs against England, he was dropped on two occasions. Sri Lanka's mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis proved to be very ineffective in the previous game and the team management would want him to delivery in the must-win game. New Zealand have had a mixed tournament so far. All their key batsmen – Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor and skipper Brendon McCullum have all scored some crucial knocks, but they really need to fire together in today's match to take their side into the semis.
