Dhaka: Team India has landed in the host nation Bangladesh on Friday to participate in the fifth edition of the ICC World Twenty20. The inaugural champion of the event, Indian team is not in the best of its form and has been struggling across all the formats of the game for quite some time now. However, India have quite a few match-winners in their team, who can turn the tables in the 16 nation event, starting from March 16. As the tournament is taking place in sub-continent, in the slow and spin friendly tracks, India will certainly get some advantage, considering the team they have. India have three front line spinners in R Ashwin, Ravinder Jadeja and Amit Mishra, who can prove vital in the slow and turning tracks of Bangladesh. Moreover, they also have part-timers like Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina, who can also bowl some quick economical overs. On such tracks where the ball generally keeps low, it’s always difficult for a batsman to charge the spinner every now and then. Apart from that, Indian batsmen can easily give the best of the fast bowlers in the world a run for their money, as they won’t extract that extra bit of pace and bounce from these placid tracks to trouble most of the Indian batsmen who are quite vulnerable against short-pitch deliveries. It`s a win-win situation for Team India, yet it has to make sure that it executes its plans neatly on the ground to lift their second ICC World Twenty20 trophy.
