New Delhi: India's premier batsman Ajinkya Rahane, saw his name rise in the ICC Test rankings after jumping to 12th place.
Rahane starred for India by slamming twin hundreds in India's final Test against South Africa at the Feroz Shah Kotla, which ended on Sunday. The tons helped the Mumbai batsman achieve a career best rating of 754 after finishing with 266 runs from the four-match series, which India won 3-0.
Rahane has grown in stature in Test cricket and after some good performances abroad, he got his bat do the talking at home too. Rahane has scored hundreds in New Zealand, England, Australia and Sri Lanka. The twin centuries at Kotla will do his confidence a world of good.
Rahane's outing in India had been very poor before the Delhi Test and he will be happy after making amends this time. In a series that was dominated by spinners, Rahane will feel upbeat after playing well against the turning ball.
Rahane is rated highest amongst Indian batsmen with Virat Kohli next on 14th.
