ICC World Cup 2015: Australia vs Sri Lanka - As it happened...

New Delhi: Despite a superb hundred by veteran batsmen Kumar Sangakkara, Australian pacers maintained their cool to bowl their team to a 64-run win over Sri Lanka. The Lankans put on a brave show in the run chase after Glenn Maxwell's first ODI hundred powered Aussies to 376.

Australia win the match by 64 runs.

Chandimal pulls and runs for two as David Warner comes in quickly to protect the ball. Chandimal is down and the physio is out to give some medication. Is it cramps or hamstring? The partnership has been superb 74 off 42 balls. Chandimal is ready to face and pulls Johnson but the ball skies up and lands safely, two runs are taken. It is a hamstring problem and he is struggling. He gets a run and he can barely run. Mathews finds the gap and picks two runs, Starc with an awesome fielding there.

Two runs are taken. Next ball is called a wide but replays show it wasn't. Chandimal shuffles across and tries to pull Johnson but misses the ball. Lankan fans are cheering loud. He pulls and gets another boundary. This is special from Dilshan. He hits through cover for a superb boundary and it is raining fours here. He pushes again in the cover region and gets his sixth boundary.

There wasn't a two and the batsmen run it anyway and he gets out. Johnson gets a single and Doherty faces the final ball. They run a bye after missing the ball and a good end to a very impressive innings.

Haddin goes big and Prasanna comes charging in and misses the catch. One run comes. Watson then goes high above in the air and Chandimal catches the ball.

WARNER GOES BACK!

Senanayake continues and Finch takes a run off the first ball and in the next delivery Warner chips inside-out over extra-cover for a boundary. Another run is taken off the over and six comes out of it. Next over Malinga gets danger man Warner. Warner goes for a indecisive push on the off side and a leading edge finds the fielder. Big blow this. Steve Smith comes in. Malinga follows it with a wide. Three dots follow and then Smith hits a cover drive for four.

Finch defends the third ball before playing a sweep and it gets the pad and his glove but Sangakkara misses. Another chance gone! Finch then picks up three after playing a shot through fine leg. Malinga continues and Finch plays it softly towards the off side. Next ball is defended towards mid-off. Malinga gives room outside off and Finch lashes hard and gets a four through covers. Good bowl with a bit of swing and it is steered away towards point. Finch runs a close single off the last ball.

Malinga starts for Sri Lanka and Finch plays a defensive shot and it goes to the mid on fielder. Next ball he edges after poking a ball outside off stump and Jayawardene dives but fails to catch it. Warner defends length ball towards mid-on fielder. Next ball is defended straight back to bowler. Warner drives towards cover but a good fielding saves vital runs. Warner gets off the mark with a gentle push outside off past point and he picks three runs.
