One run off the first over and Bangladesh are off to a splendid start.

Lahiru Thirimanne and Tilakratne Dilshan are opening the innings for Sri Lanka while Mashrafe Mortaza is getting ready for the first over of the day.

One big talking point ahead of the match is: Mahela Jayawardene is 91 runs short of becoming Sri Lanka's highest run-scorer in cricket World Cups. He is behind Sanath Jayasuriya's grand total of 1165 runs.

Aleem Dar from Pakistan and Aussis Paul Reiffel will conduct the affairs in the centre.

Sri Lanka XI: Lahiru Thirimanne, Tilakratne Dilshan, Kumar  Sangakkara (wicket-keeper), Dimuth Karunaratne, Mahela Jayawardene, Angelo Mathews (captain),  Dinesh Chandimal, Thisara Perera, Rangana Herath, Lasith  Malinga, Suranga Lakmal

Bangladesh XI: Tamim Iqbal, Anamul Haque, Soumya Sarkar, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (wicket-keeper), Mominul Haque, Sabbir Rahman, Mashrafe Mortaza (captain), Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed

TOSS: Sri Lanka have won the toss and will bat first.

Enduring a rather wobbly campaign so far, former champions Sri Lanka would be eyeing a big win to boost their confidence when they take on Bangladesh in their third pool A ODI cricket match of the ICC World Cup here on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka, the 1996 champions, have been far from good in the tournament so far, losing to co-hosts New Zealand in the opener before huffing and puffing to win over minnows Afghanistan.

The Lankans would be eager to ensure that they win and win convincingly against the South-Asian minnows, who are unbeaten so far. Bangladesh have beaten Afghanistan while their match against Australia was washed out due to cyclone Marcia.

For Sri Lanka, a major cause of concern is the poor form of star batsmen Kumar Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan besides the ordinary run of pace spearhead Lasith Malinga.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, are yet to be tested in the tournament. But given their position right now, they only need to win a couple of their remaining four matches to advance to the quarterfinals.
