New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief selector Sandeep Patil will announce the Indian squads for upcoming Asia Cup and ICC World T20 events today. (ICC World T20 - CLICK TO VIEW INDIA's FINAL 15-MAN SQUAD)
Not many changes are expected in the squad that played under MS Dhoni's captaincy in the three-match T20I series against Australia, and the skipper himself said that the squad will be more or less same for the prestigious event.
The selectors don't have much to ponder over since after a 1-4 defeat against the Aussies in the ODI series, Men in Blue bounced back to register a historic 3-0 win in the T20I series against Aaron Finch and his boys.
Virat Kohli, who has been rested for the three-match series against Sri Lanka, will return to the World T20 squad, while Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah – two youngsters who were impressive Down Under, are also likely to be retained for ICC's coveted event.
The Asia Cup will be played in Mirpur from February 24 to March 6 while the World Twenty20 will be played from March 8 - April 3.
Here is what we think India's 15-man squad will be like:
Playing XI: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Ashish Nehra, Jasprit Bumrah
Others in fray: Hardik Pandya, Manish Pandey, Ishant Sharma, Harbhajan Singh
