New Delhi: The Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) has said that the online registration for India matches, semi-finals and final will begin from today.
The board said on Wednesday that four matches of Indian cricket team, along with the two semi-finals and the final, will be sold online through a lottery system.
The Indian board confirmed on Wednesday that the online process to register for the lottery system for all the India matches, the four semi-finals (Men and Women) and the two finals (Men and Women) of ICC World Twenty20 India 2016 will begin on Thursday, 25 February at 12h00 IST.
The window to register for the lottery system will be open for only seven days, closing on Wednesday, 2 March 2016 at 5 pm IST.
"The fans, in India as well as abroad, can register by completing an online registration form, which is available at [https://in.bookmyshow.com/sports/cricket/icc-worldt20-2016 ], to indicate their preferred match(es) following which they will be automatically enrolled into the random draw. Through an automated process, the winners will be chosen and intimated either by email or by SMS," a BCCI statement said.
"The winners from the random draw will then be given an opportunity to buy tickets for the match they have opted for and will receive a payment link to complete their booking."
BCCI said that the process was designed to avoid an instant sell-out of tickets, and to ensure that all users get an equal chance to buy tickets for the ICC World Twenty20 India 2016.
The BCCI appointed bookmyshow.com as the ticketing agency for the event, and said the entire ticketing process was "monitored and audited by a reputed auditing agency."
