New Delhi: Former India players Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa backed Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra to perform well at the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 on home soil.
According to a report on CricBuzz, the duo were present at a media event on Saturday when they were asked questions with regards to India's chances of winning the all-important tournament.
Gambhir and Robin said they were rooting for their former teammates Yuvraj and Nehra.
"It's good to see him performing on his comeback, but the test will be the World Cup," said the left-hander.
"To have Yuvi in top form is a bonus, a big plus for us. We are all are rooting for him to do well. I hope he peaks in time for the World Cup," said Uthappa.
While Nehra has done extremely well since his comeback in to the side, Yuvi is yet to hit peak form.
The World Cup on home soil could be the perfect platform for the Punjab batsman to shine once again.
