Manish Pandey: Karnataka batsman deserved a place ahead of Pawan Negi in India's World T20 squad

New Delhi: Despite hitting one of the most historic tons on Australian soil recently, Manish Pandey failed to make it to India's 15-man squad for ICC World Twenty20.

Surprisingly, the BCCI selectors picked spinner Pawan Negi for both Asia Cup as well as World T20 squads, while the Karnataka batsman failed to make the cut.

There will be a lot of debate whether Negi deserved a spot ahead of Pandey, as Pandey has been a revelation in the Indian domestic circuit and he also proved his mettle at the international stage when he slammed unbeaten 104 runs at the Sydney Cricket ground to win the 5th ODI for India.

The 26-year-old was India's first centurion in the Indian Premier League and considering his reputation of being a big-hitter, his exclusion is something which shall be discussed for a long time.
