Ramnaresh Sarwan once suggested I should have my own comedy show: Chris Gayle

New Delhi: While Chris Gayle is a bowler's nightmare on the cricket field, when he is not busy tonking them all over the park, the marauder from Jamaica is known for the crazy stuff he does off the field.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Gayle revealed that keeping his crazy behaviour in mind, former West Indies cricketer Ramnaresh Sarwan suggested him to have his own comedy show.

“My thing has always been saying crazy stuff in a funny way. (Ramnaresh) Sarwan used to say I should have a comedy show. I have been like that from the time I joined the West Indies dressing-room. But I have also learnt to understand everyone, and know who can be made fun of and who doesn’t like it. Even if you don’t like me you will laugh though,” Gayle told the newspaper.

The dynamic left-hander, who is known to celebrate and party hard, credited his mother for all his craziness.

“She says some crazy stuff and you have to laugh. That particular side comes from my mom. I get goosebumps when I think about the crazy names she used to call me by,” he said.

In West Indies' opening match of ICC World T20, Gayle smashed a 47-ball ton against England, which made him the only batsman in world cricket to hit two centuries in the coveted event.
