New Delhi: Soon after Virat Kohli once again left the cricket fraternity in awe of his incredible batting, former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly was full of praise for the maverick right-hander.
Speaking to India Today, Ganguly said that even though Sachin Tendulkar was a great batsman, there was no better batsman than Kohli when it came to chasing.
"Kohli is the greatest chaser by far and I am saying this keeping in mind the great man Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin was special but as far as chasing is concerned, Kohli has done better than Sachin. Kohli is unreal," Ganguly told the news channel.
Dada further added that he was confident about Kohli stepping up the gas in the high-voltage match as he is India's go-to man at the moment.
"He knew that he could accelerate at any stage and take the game away. I get the feeling that the team management feels he is India's go-to man. They don't put any pressure on him even if he scores slowly,” he said.
In a do-or-die match against Australia at Mohali, India defeated Steve Smith and his boys by 6 wickets to advance into the semis of the tournament.
MS Dhoni & Co will now take on West Indies in the second semi-final at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 31.
