IND vs WI: BCCI officials express unhappiness with Indian players' social media activities

New Delhi: Be it Australia, West Indies or any other picturesque cricketing nation, beer and beach is an integral part of the local culture.

Since the Indian cricket team landed in the Caribbean, pictures of their off-field activities have been a massive hit over social media. But, this has not got down well with the BCCI.

Recently, a picture was posted by the cricketers, relaxing on beach with beers during a day’s outing at St. Nevis.

As per a report in The Hindu, some BCCI officials weren't happy with players posting such images on social media. A clear message has been sent to the team manager to ensure that nothing that could set a bad example to kids should be uploaded.

As quoted by the Hindu, BCCI offical said, “Many kids blindly follow the star cricketers’ actions on and off the field, so our boys have got to always keep that in mind. They should always consider the sense and sensitivities of Indian cricket fans.”

The picture that created this uproar amongst the officials included K.L. Rahul with a pint in his hand, with teammates Stuart Binny, Umesh Yadav and a support staff member.
