Kohli warns Eng ‘Dharamsala ground’s scenic beauty can be distracting for first timers’

London: India batsman Virat Kohli has warned England players that the fabulous views of the mountains from the ground in Dharamsala can be a distraction for the first timers ahead of their final one-day international on Sunday. England will have to cope with more than just the opposition when they play in front of the most beautiful backdrop in cricket.

The stunning Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) ground in Dharamsala has the stunning beauty of Himalayan mountains behind it, and Kohli admits even the Indian players have been distracted in the past. But the Indian players are mostly familiar with it and, under clear skies and a warming sun, the first-ever international at the ground should be a memorable one. Kohli said the dazzling view can be a distraction the first time a player plays here, but after that they get used to it as it’s really is a beautiful ground. The swaggering batsman further said the first time he came here when he was 17 for an under-19 training camp with North Zone and he was as taken with it as everyone is when they come here, wanting to take photos. Tibet’s spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, lives nearby and the England squad visited him on Friday. ANI
