==============================================================

Toss: So the news from the center is that Bangladesh have won the toss and decided to bat first. Parvez Rasool, Cheteshwar Pujara and Akshar Patel are among the lucky ones who got the chance to play in the first ODI. And mind it it's a debut match for two Indian players -- Rasool and Akshar.

==============================================================

Within minutes from now, India will lock horns with Bangladesh in the first ODI of the three-match series at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. The Indian cricket team will get an opportunity to test its bench strength in the absence of senior players. Suresh Raina is leading the Indian side for the series. And it’s a golden opportunity for Indian fringe players to take the centre stage. For Bangladesh team, under their new coach Chandika Hathurasinghe, it will be redemption time after their inglorious exit from the group league stage of the ICC World T20 in their homeland.

Consistency has been their bane for the better part of the last decade and they will again depend on their seasoned trio of Rahim, all-rounder Shakib-al Hasan and opener Tamim Iqbal to guide the team against the Indians. It will be a series where even if the Indian team wins 3-0, it won`t count for much with the big ticket series against England coming up in four weeks time.
