Drugs killed Jacko, says spiritual guru Deepak Chopra

While the whole world is bewildered by the sudden death of ‘King of Pop’ Michael Jackson, Deepak Chopra, the spiritual guru and longtime friend of Jackson has said that drugs led to the death of the pop star. According to Chopra, the drugs were prescribed by Hollywood celebrity doctors. Though the imminent cause of Jackson’s death is unknown, Jackson’s family has maintained that the painkillers led to Jackson's sudden demise.

While the whole world is bewildered by the sudden death of ‘King of Pop’ Michael Jackson and still trying to come to terms with it, Deepak Chopra, the spiritual guru and longtime friend of Michael Jackson has said that drugs led to the death of the pop star. According to Chopra, the drugs were prescribed by Hollywood celebrity doctors. Though the imminent cause of Jackson’s death is unknown, Jackson’s family has maintained that the painkillers led to Jackson’s sudden demise. Talking to a news daily, Chopra has said that he knew Jackson since 1988 and became vary of the pop stars’ ill health only in 2005 when Jackson came to stay with him. "During the course of his stay, Michael asked for a prescription for Oxycontin, a narcotic", added Chopra. He maintained, “Shocked that he was on that particular drug, I told him categorically that Oxycontin was a narcotic. It`s an addictive drug and he didn`t need it." However, Jackson tried to distract the conversation and started avoiding Chopra. "Through the years I tried to tell him that he should get off certain medicines that were being recommended to him but in vain,” said Chopra further.
