New Delhi: With India having achieved an unassailable 3-0 lead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy the last Test to be played in Delhi is only a formality of sorts for the hosts.

Indian captain MS Dhoni has already spoken about the possibility of a few changes in the squad for the Delhi Test.

With Shikhar Dhawan ruled out of the last Test match, due to a fracture in his left hand, India should give Rahane his much awaited and much deserved break in Test cricket.

The young opener from Mumbai has been waiting in the wings for quite some time now as India kept persisting with out of form openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir for a long time.

Rahane has an average of 62.04 in first class cricket and it’s high time he got a chance to play for India in the longer format, over a tried and tested non-performer like Suresh Raina, who has been chosen as Dhawan’s replacement in the squad.

India should stick to Pujara at number three and give Rahane his much deserved oppurtuinity to open alongside Murali Vijay.
