Three consecutive boundaries off Starc took India to 136/4 as they won the Test and took 3-0 lead in the four-match series. The first day of the Test was washed out due to rain. However, a record-breaking century from Shikhar Dhawan followed by a combined bowling effort from the Indians that restricted Australia to 223 runs in the second innings laid the foundation of a thrilling win over Australia. With this victory, India regained the Border-Gavaskar trophy that they lost in a similar fashion in Australia last year. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 32.1 II Score: 116/4 ( Dhoni 6*, Jadeja 0*) OUT! He missed it and the ball hit him on the thigh and rolled back to the pitch. He was out of his crease looking for the ball and a single. In the meantime, David Warner charged in from cover and made a direct hit. He scored 21 (23b, 4X2). This is not what India wanted. India have lost their fourth wicket ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 31 II Score: 111/3 (Tendulkar 16*, Dhoni 6*) Nail-biting moments in the middle! Peter Siddle and Mitchell Starc are bowling their heart out to stop India from scoring these last few runs. The ball is swinging but eluding the bat. Siddle has bowled 10 overs, given 26 runs and picked up a wicket. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 29 II Score: 106/3 ( Tendulkar 15*, Dhoni 2*) With seven overs to go India still need 27 runs. Australian bowlers aren’t going to give them free runs. Off the last twelve balls, India have scored just two runs. They’ll have to fight hard to get home. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 26.4 II Score: 103/3 ( Tendulkar 14*, Dhoni 0*) Siddle comes back into the attack and gets Virat Kohli! A sharp catch by Phil Hughes at short midwicket ended his stay at the crease. He scored 34 (61b, 4X6). In walks MS Dhoni. He is disappointed. Not the best of moments to get out. He had done the hard work. He was treting the ball to their merit. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 25 II Score: 98/2 ( Kohli 29*, Tendulkar 11*) India are inching closer to the win. Lyon dropped one short and Kohli played it to midwicket region for a boundary. 35 more runs to win in 66 deliveries. Batting alongside Kohli is Sachin Tendulkar. The Indians have hit 11 boundaries so far. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 9.2 II Score: 42/1 (Pujara 15*, Kohli 0*) OUT! Murali Vijay shimmies down the track and misses. Wicketkeeper Brad haddin comfortably takes off the bail as Doherty makes the first breakthrough. Vijay scored 26 (33b, 4X5). Virat Kohli has come in at no.3. Off the previous over, bowled by Siddle, Vijay and Pujara collected a boundary each. Off the final delivery of the seventh over, Doherty appealed for a catch at slip. However, the umpire turned it down. Replays showed that he had edged that. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 7 II Score: 30/0 (Vijay 19*, Pujara 10*) TEA cracking shot from Pujara as he plays one from Siddle through covers for a boundary. Four runs from the over. India need another 103 runs to win this game. They hall all 10 wickets intact. They have dominated the proceedings today as well except when Starc and Doherty were batting and looked to take the game away from the grips of Indians. However, Jadeja took the final wicket and Australia were bundled out for 223 runs in their second innings setting India a target of 133 runs. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 5 II Score: 21/0 (Vijay 15*, Pujara 6*) Pujara plays a beautiful shot to deep midwicket off the final delivery of Lyon’s first over of the innings to score his first boundary. That over went for six runs. Vijay takes a single off the final delivery of the fifth over (Siddle) to keep the strike. ==================================================================================== INDIA Overs: 3 II Score: 14/0 (Vijay 13*, Pujara 1*) The second over, bowled by Peter Siddle was a maiden. Two boundaries came in the over – both by Murali Vijay. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 89.2 II Score: 223/10 ( Doherty 18*) OUT! Ravindra Jadeja has finally broken the final stand. Mitchell Starc was the final Australian wicket to fall after being caught by R Ashwin. He scored 35 (100b, 4X2). The home team should feel the pressure now as this last pair is continues to defy them without facing much trouble. Pacer in operation now from India. Ishant Sharma’s fourth delivery of the 83rd over was wide of off stump and Doherty played it to sweeper cover for a boundary. Off the next over, bowled by Kumar, Doherty cut a short one from him to third man region for another boundary. The 85th over from Ashwin was a maiden. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 82 II Score: 198/9 (Starc 25*, Doherty 4*) New ball has been taken and now Dhoni has introduced his ‘new ball specialist’ Bhuvneshwar Kumar into the attack. He has been the highest wicket taker of this innings. Strange that he is bowling him now. The current pair has added 19 runs for the final wicket so far. Just one run from the over. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 78 II Score: 194/9 ( Starc 21*, Doherty 4*) A loud cheer went up in the stadium as MS Dhoni handed the ball to Sachin Tendulkar. A rare sight these days to see Tendulkar bowling. He nearly takes a wicket as Doherty gets an inside edge that goes straight to the region where a silly point would have been stationed. A single from his first over. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 75 II Score: 191/9 ( Starc 18*, Doherty 4*) India still searching for the tenth wicket. Pragyan Ojha is also in hunt for his 100th Test wicket. He has taken four wickets so far in this match and is just one wicket away from reaching the landmark. Off penultimate delivery of the 74th over an edge off the bat of Doherty that went through gully region for a boundary. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 71.1 II Score: 179/9 ( Starc 11*, Doherty 0*) OUT! Finallyyy! R Ashwin has broken the stand that was frustrating them and looking to save the game for Australia. Carrom ball from Ashwin and Haddin is hit square in front of the middle wicket. The umpire raises his finger straightway. Haddin scored 30 (72b, 4X5). In walks Xavier Doherty at no. 11. Australia are leading by 88 runs. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 65 II Score: 170/8 ( Haddin 23*, Starc 9*) LUNCH 46 overs have been bowled in the first session of the final day of the Mohali Test. Australia have scored 95 from them but have lost five wickets. They have a lead of 79 runs. Phil Hughes, the top scorer of the innings so far, was unlucky to have been adjudged lbw by umpire Aleem Dar. A fascinating session of play is ahead of us. India cannot sit back and relax because they’re dealing with two capable batsmen and a let off may leave their hopes of taking a 3-0 lead in the cold. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 65 II Score: 167/8 ( Haddin 21*, Starc 8*) This partnership might start to get into the nerves of Indian team. The current pair has added 24 runs. India need to pick two wickets ASAP. Off the 61st over Haddin added third boundary to his total. Off the first delivery of the 64th over, Haddin drove Ojha through point region for four. Spin in Ojha and pace in Sharma currently in operation from India. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 60 II Score: 156/8 ( Haddin 12*, Starc 6*) Over 56 was a maiden by Jadeja – his sixth of the innings. Peter Siddle has been cleaned up by Pragyan Ojha as Australia lose their eight wicket with a lead of 52 runs in the second innings. This is Ojha’s second wicket of the innings. Off the previous delivery, Siddle had lofted him over long-off for a maximum. The reaction from Ojha after he bowled him clearly showed how he felt about that offense from Siddle! In comes Mitchell Starc. Remember – he had scored 99 in the first innings. Siddle scored 13 (13b, 4X1, 6X1). ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 51.1 II Score: 126/7 ( Haddin 1*, Siddle 0*) OUT! Brilliant catch by Ravindra Jadeja to dismiss Moises Hanriques off his own bowling. A tossed up delivery from Jadeja and Henriques plays it to the left of the bowler. Jadeja dives and completes the catch. He scored 2 (10b). In walks Peter Siddle. Australia are just 35 runs ahead and have only three wickets remaining. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 48.3 II Score: 123/6 ( Haddin 0*, Henriques 0*) OUT! This is a big wicket for India and Ashwin has helped his team tighten their grip over this third Test removing Phil Hughes. Ashwin has hit Hughes on the pad and asked the question to Aleem Dar who raises his finger. The southpaw was hit on the pads and the delivery looked certain to miss the leg stump. A lucky wicket for India this but Hughes must have been disappointed. He scored 69 (147b, 4X11, 6X1). In comes Moises Henriques. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 45.6 II Score: 119/5 ( Hughes 65*, Haddin 0*) OUT! Well clearly the Indians aren’t going to sit back and see the match run its natural course. They’re pressing for a win here at Mohali. Ravindra Jadeja has dismissed Michael Clarke for the second time in this Test. He was caught by Cheteshwar Pujara at short leg after getting an inside edge that flew to Pujara after hitting him on the pad. He scored 18 (49b, 4X3). In walks Brad Haddin. Clarke has been dismissed for the fifth time by Jadeja in this series. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 45 II Score: 118/4 ( Hughes 64*, Clarke 18*) It is clear what Australia are looking to get from this Test – a draw (duh!) Only one run has been scored in the past 30 deliveries with four maidens. The monotony being broken in the 45th over as Hughes played one from Jadeja to long-on to take a single. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 40 II Score: 117/4 ( Hughes 63*, Clarke 18*) 10 runs have been scored in the past fiver overs including a boundary to Michael Clarke via an edge that went past the slip in the 40th over. The 36th over fetched them two singles while the 37th went for a single. From the 38th over they took two singles while one run came off the next. Jadeja and Ojha are currently in operation. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 35 II Score: 107/4 ( Hughes 60*, Clarke 11*) Australia are in the lead now. Their captain Michael Clarke has opened his account with a boundary off Ojha to deep backward square region. Clarke scored his second boundary in that same over of Ojha to fine leg. Eight runs came in the 30th over. The next from Ashwin was a maiden while four runs came off the next. Hughes safely negotiated the six deliveries from Ashwin in the next while Clarke scored a couple off Ojha in the 34th over. Hughes edged one from Ashwin in the next to record his tenth boundary. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 27.6 II Score: 89/4 ( Hughes 53*, Clarke 0*) OUT! And Pragyan Ojha makes the breakthrough for India. It’s Nathan Lyon who is on his way back to the Australia dressing room after being caught by MS Dhoni off Ojha. Lyon came forward and ended up edging the final delivery of the over to the keeper. He scored 18 (48b, 4X3). In walks skipper Michael Clarke. Earlier, Ishant Sharma began the proceedings of the final day and his third delivery of the morning was flicked away by Lyon for a boundary. Ashwin joined him from the other end and his first of the day went for 1. Ojha was introduced in the 26th over and his fourth delivery almost got him a wicket but for a diving Kohi who failed to catch Lyon at first slip. The 27th over from Ashwin was a maiden. Off the second delivery of the 28th over, Ashwin failed to cut the ball at mid-on as the ball crossed the fence inviting a glaring look from his teammates. However, the final delivery of the over got Ojha and India the much needed wicket. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Overs: 21 II Score: 75/3 ( Hughes 53*, Lyon 4*) The fourth day ended with Phil Hughes and Nathan Lyon still at the crease for Australia. The former has struck a brisk half-century while the latter has come in as a nightwatchman. Indian batting collapsed on Sunday after the fall of Shikhar Dhawan who was dismissed early on in the day. They lost 10 wickets for 211 runs after being 289/0 at one stage. However, they managed to take a lead of 91 runs.
