Langer, Blewett in disbelief over sacking of four players

Sydney: Former Australian Test batsman Justin Langer has claimed he was shattered after learning about the sacking of four players from their squad to face India in the third Test at Mohali, while another ex-star Greg Blewett said he was still in disbelief over the droppings for disciplinary breach.

James Pattinson, Mitchell Johnson, Usman Khawaja and Shane Watson were dropped from third Test for failing to respond to a peer review of the side`s performance in the second Test. Langer expressed his disappointment at the disciplinary action, saying he was shattered by it, adding he came into the West Australian cricket team with this talk of culture and this need to improve culture. Langer said he just finds that what has happened overnight and now with Watson coming home, adding the all rounder is one of the nicest blokes you`ll ever meet in your life, and he is a fantastic bloke. The former Test opener added to Watson him make a decision like that (returning to Australia), on the back of being left out of the Test match, he just finds it really, really disappointing. Meanwhile, the sacking of Australia`s naughty boy quartet and public carpeting of Watson in India also shocked former Oz star Blewett Blewett said the first time he heard it was a little bit of disbelief really, adding four players out of action makes the squad a little bit thin. Blewett added trying to read between the lines it all seems a little bit heavy handed, you only get to play a dozen Tests a year, and there is better ways of handling it than a Test match suspension. Blewett said there had been more serious discipline breaches go unpunished in his international career from 1995-2000. ANI
