And Kohli scored two back-to-back boundaries off his second and third ball to score nine runs from the over. In the 37th over Kohli and Rohit completed 100-run partnership. In the over, two boundaries came for India but this time from Rohit Sharma’s bat, classical shots -- first over cover and then over point region. In the next over Rohit completed his hundred in style by scoring a boundary off Johnson through cover point reign. It’s his first hundred as an opener and third overall. Johnson conceded 13 runs in the over. Now the required run-rate is below six. Rohit is on a roll here. He is dealing in boundaries right now. In the 40th over came four boundaries off Johnson. First one was from Kohli’s bat and the next three from Rohit’s willow. India need just 40 runs in last ten overs to seal the match. ==================================================================================== India: Over 35 || Score 262/1 In the third ball of the 31st over Rohit sent McKay over mid-wicket for a six. But while doing that his calf muscle was pulled badly. But after taking some break he is ready to continue his innings. In the same over Kohli launched McKay for one more six. 14 runs came from the over. Kohli is scoring runs at a rapid pace here. In the next over Watson was at the receiving end as Kohli first hit him out of the park in the first ball and then for a boundary to collect 12 runs. In the next over bowled by McKay first Kohli scored a boundary over extra cover and then in the last ball Rohit smacked him for a maximum. 13 runs came from the over. In the 34th over with a single Kohli completed his 50. What an innings by the Indian vice-captain. In the same over Doherty was again hit for a six by Kohli over long-on boundary. In the 35th over India scored nine runs. ==================================================================================== India: Over 30 || Score 204/1 Dhawan missed his ton. Faulkner gave Australians their first breakthrough. Dhawan tried to drive Faulkner towards a boundary but only managed an outside edge and wicket-keeper Haddin, who took a comfortable catch this time. Before getting out he scored 95 runs in mere 86 balls, laced with 14 boundaries. Kohli came to the crease after the fall of first Indian wicket. In the 28th over came just four runs. But in the next Kohli first scored a boundary off Faulkner and then sent his last ball for a maximum to collect 11 from it. In the 30th over Kohli once again sent Doherty out of the park and collected 10 runs from the over. India also crossed 200 run-mark in the over. S Dhawan c Haddin b Faulkner 95 (86b) ==================================================================================== India: Over 25 || Score 173/0 Mitchell Johnson has been reintroduced into the attack in the 24th over. And it didn't bother the southpaw. He scored two boundaries off Johnson and both the fours came at the mid-wicket area. Nine runs came from it. Watson from the other end and same result. This time Dhawan played the ball towards cover reign for a four. Shikhar Dhawan is on a roll here. Shot-pitched deliveries are back-firing for the Aussies in this march as Dhawan collected another boundary in that mid-wicket area. Nine runs from the 25th over. ==================================================================================== India: Over 23 || Score 155/0 Bailey has now introduced James Faulkner in the 21st over, who bowled magnificently in the last match and scalped three Indian wickets. But in-form Dhawan smashed him for four in the fifth ball of his first over to collect eight runs from it. Rohit scored a boundary off the last ball of Doherty’s next over and scored eight runs from it. Both the openers are looking unstoppable at the moment. They are hitting boundaries at will. Dhawan hit two back-to-back fours in the 23rd over by Faulkner. And with it, India crossed the mark of 150 runs. 11runs came from the over. ==================================================================================== India: Over 20 || Score 128/0 Three runs came from the 16th over off Doherty. But in the next over Rohit launched Maxwell for maximum over long-on in the second ball. And with this six India have crossed the mark of 100 runs without any loss. Seven runs came from the over. It’s fourth 100-run partnership between these two – Rohit and Dhawan. In the 18th over Rohit completed his fifty in style by scoring a boundary off Doherty. Sharma smashed six fours and a six to reach his half-century. Seven runs came from the 19th over. And with two back-to-back boundaries another Indian opener Dhawan also completed his fifty. What an opening run-stand for India. ==================================================================================== India: Over 15 || Score 95/0 A good contest is going on between Shane Watson and Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan has an upper hand so far as he already smacked Watson for three fours. Watson has lost his line and length completely after that and gave away 10 runs in the 11th over. Spin has been introduced into the attack for the very first time in the form of Doherty – a left arm spinner. Doherty gave five runs from his first over. Maxwell has also been introduced from the other end, which means spin from both end. Four runs from the 13th over. And Dhawan got lucky once again when he tried to drive Doherty towards cover and missed the ball completely and Hidden dislodged the stumps within a flash. But third umpire gave the batsman benefit of doubt. Four runs came from the 14th over and two form the next. Spinners have put some break on the Indian scoring. But good thing from India’s point of view is that they haven’t lost any wicket yet while chasing a huge total of 360 runs. ==================================================================================== India: Over 10 || Score 69/0 A cautious start by the Indian in the first five overs but now they have to score runs quickly as they are chasing a mammoth target of 360 runs. First ball of the sixth over and Dhawan dispatched it for a four over covers. Eight runs came from the over. Shane Watson has been introduced into the attack by skipper Bailey in the seventh over and he bowled at a tight line and gave just one run from the over. So far Australian bowlers have done a good job to stop the Indian openers from scoring freely. In the 8th over by McKay, Dhawan tried to launch him for a six but mistimed it completely and the ball went high in the air within the circle but wicket-keeper Hidden dropped it. In the next over Dhawan smashed three fours off Watson in the first three balls. And with that India have crossed the mark of 50 runs. 15 runs came from the over. In the tenth over Sharma collected a boundary over square leg off Mckay. In the fifth he smashed a slower one by McKay to cover boundary for another four. Now the Indian team is getting the momentum. ==================================================================================== India: Over 5 || Score 30/0 In-form Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have come up to open the Indian innings. Mitchell Johnson is spearheading the attack for the visiting team. And on the first ball of the innings Rohit dispatched the ball towards the fine-leg boundary for a four. On the next ball Johnson bowled a gem of a delivery which hit Rohit's pad, a close call, but umpire declared it not out. Four runs from the first over. McKay is sharing the new ball with Johnson. Two runs came from the first ball and five from the over. Johnson is bowling at a tight line and with an impressive speed which is forcing Indians to score runs only with the help of singles and doubles. In the last ball of the third over Dhawan pull the ball towards square leg to collect his first boundary. Flashy drive by Rohit Sharma off McKay and with it Rohit scored his second boundary of the match. He then played a confident shot with the straight bat over long off for another boundary. Eight runs came from the over. Rohit played a crunchy drive over covers off Johnson to score yet another boundary but only six runs came from the fifth over. ==================================================================================== Australian Innings This is Australia's highest total on Indian soil as they surpassed their previous best of 350 for four in Hyderabad which they scored in the year 2009. In last ten overs Australians scored 122 runs as Bailey and Maxwell sent the Indian bowlers all over the park. The duo put on a staggering 96 runs in only 8.3 overs for the fourth wicket. R Vinay Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja were the most expensive bowlers for India. As the former ended up with the figures of 2/73 in 9 overs and the latter with 0/72 from his 10 over quota. All the top five order batsmen scored fifty for the Australians, which is a record in itself. ==================================================================================== Australia: Over 50 || Score 359/5 Maxwell completed his fifty in the first ball of the 46th over by taking two runs off Bhuneshwar Kumar. But luckily for Indians he got run out on the fifth ball when he tried to snatch the second run. But he has played his part quite well. He scored 53 runs in mere 32 balls, laced with seven fours and a six, before getting out. In the 47th over Bailey first hit Ashwin for six in the fourth ball and then in the last collected a boundary over extra covers to score 13 runs from the over. He is again playing a captain’s knock. In the next over Bailey again smacked the bowler, first for a boundary and then for a six over mid-wicket. This time Bhuvneshwar Kumar was at the receiving end and 15 runs came from the over. Voges got out in the 49th over after scoring 11 runs. Ten runs came from the 49th over. In the last over of the innings Ishant leaked 12 runs. In last five overs Australians collected 57 runs. Bailey played a blistering knock and helped Australia to cross the mark of 350. He remained unbeaten on 92 in 50 balls with the help of eight fours and five sixes. GJ Maxwell run out 53 (32b) AC Voges c Kumar b Vinay Kumar 11 (8b) ==================================================================================== Australia: Over 45 || Score 302/3 In the 42nd over Australian batsmen collected 12 runs. They are smashing boundaries all over the park. Poor bowling and fielding by Indians are helping them to score runs easily. In the next over by Jadeja came 14 runs. He was smacked for a six by Bailey in the second ball and then a boundary by Maxwell in the fifth. In the 14th over Vinay gave 15 runs. Runs are flowing at the moment. And MSD is looking clueless. Bailey and Maxwell both are striking the ball well and are heading towards their half-century. Ishant is again bowling on a poor line and length. Bowling big wides on leg-side won’t help the Indians. 18 runs came from the 45th over bowled by Ishant. And with the boundary on the last ball Bailey completed his fifty in style and Australia crossed the mark of 300 runs as well. ==================================================================================== Australia: Over 40 || Score 237/3 Batting Powerplay is on. It’s a perfect platform for Australia to score runs, as opener Hughes is still at the crease. Seven runs came from the first over of batting powerplay, as a single boundary came from Ishant overs. From the next over by Jadeja came eight runs. Bailey hit a six on the fourth ball of the otherwise good over by Jadeja. Hughes out. Finally India got the big breakthrough in the form of P Hughes. Hughes went to cut Ashwin’s short ball but only managed an edge and Dhoni took a smart catch behind the stumps. Hughes played a commendable knock of 83 runs in 103 balls. Maxwell came in after the fall of third Australian wicket. Stage is set for this swashbuckling batsman. And he launched Ashwin for a six in the third ball he faced. Jadeja bowled the 39th over and nine runs came from it. Ishant leaked ten runs from the next. PJ Hughes c Dhoni b Ashwin 83 (103b) ==================================================================================== Australia:Over 35 || Score 197/2 When cool and calm MSD was looking short of ideas, Vinay Kumar gave India their second breakthrough in the form of Shane Watson. Watson tried to launch the bowler for another six but a tall Ishant Sharma who was patrolling in the boundary at long on took a well-judged catch. Dangerous looking Watson is back in the pavilion. He scored 59 runs in 53 balls before getting out. After the fall of Watson’s wicket, came in the skipper of Australian team George Bailey. Hughes on the other end is still unstoppable and scoring boundaries. In the 34th over Hughes collected two back-to-back boundaries off Yuvraj’s over. India now must be looking for few more wicket as the Australians are heading towards the score of 300 plus. SR Watson c I Sharma b Vinay Kumar 59 (53b) ==================================================================================== Australia:Over 30 || Score 165/1 Both the batsmen in the middle completed their fifty. Opener Hughes sent the ball towards the on-side for a single in the last ball of the 26th over to complete his half-century. He used 68 balls and scored three fours and one six in his solid knock. After a gap if two overs the dangerous looking Shane Watson also competed his fifty and used mere 46 balls with the help of six boundaries and two sixes. The partnership is looking dangerous now. India desperately need a breakthrough here, as both of them have started scoring boundaries at will. ==================================================================================== Australia:Over 25 || Score 132/1 In the 21st over Australia collected 10 runs from the over. First Hughes collected two runs each in the second and third ball and then in the last Hughes launched Jadeja for a six over mid-wicket. Watson dispatched a short ball by Ashwin towards boundary in the next over to score eight runs from the over. Jadeja bowled at a tight line and gave just three runs from the 23 over. Yuvraj Singh has been introduced into the attack. It means from both both end left-arm spinners are in tandem for the home side. But even then the Australians are playing them quite comfortably and collecting boundaries every now and then. ==================================================================================== Australia: Over 20 || Score 95/1 Aaron Finch reaches his half-century with a brilliant six over deep square leg. But, right in the next ball, Finch has to return back. India has finally got a breakthrough, right when it mattered, the most. Finch rushed for a quick single, but Raina was fast enough to throw the ball toward the stumps. Shane Watson is the new batsman at the crease. Watson starts his innings with a boundary. Eleven runs off the 16th over. Spinner Ravindra Jadeja has been introduced in the 17th over. He has picked the line and length well and conceded just three runs. Finch hit the short ball outside off and smashed it for a boundary. Three runs in the ninth over. Ishant Sharma back into the attack in the tenth over.
