New Delhi: India are one up in the five-match series after winning the second ODI at Cardiff. With the help of Suresh Raina's fine ton and excellent bowling display by Indian spinners, tourists thrashed the hosts by 133 runs.
First match of the series was washed out due to rain, without a single bowl being bowled. It means if the hosts want to win the series, then Cook & Co have to win all the remaining matches to lift the trophy.
But England can take heart from the fact that, during the recently concluded Test series, they were in the same position after the Lord's Test. First Test of the series was drawn and in the second, India were one up after they won the history Test at Lord's after 28 long years.
Even after facing criticism from all the corners, under pressure English team turned the series on their head and beat India in all the remaining Tests, to win the series 3-1.
They are in the same situation once again, after losing the 2nd ODI in a lop-sided affair, Cook's captaincy is once again under scanner. But the task would be tougher this time as India are the world champions and in limited overs they are capable of giving any team a run for their money.
It would be interesting to see whether the hosts can win the ODI series from here or not.
The third ODI of the series is scheduled to take place on August 30 in Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
