Even though he fell short by his maiden Test ton by just 22 runs, it's that sort of innings which has earned him massive respect from everybody. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is now joined by Ishant Sharma as India leave for tea. STR Binny lbw b Ali 78 (114b) ============================================================== Over 100 || Score 336/7 Both these batsmen have spent enough time at the crease to make sure this Test ends in a draw. In one of Moeen Ali's over, Binny charged down the track and hit him over wide of long-off for a Six! The partnership is now worth 87 runs and it is not a matter of time that MS Dhoni goes for the declaration. Binny is batting on 75 and is not quite far from what would be a brilliant ton on debut! ============================================================== Over 95 || Score 316/7 After reaching his half-century, Binny showed more positive intent and often charged down the wicket against Moeen Ali. Bhuvneshwar scored two boundaries off Stokes past third and he has moved on to 22. Their partnership is now worth 67 runs and India lead by 277 wickets. Atleast 43 overs to be bowled today. ============================================================== Meanwhile, VVS Laxman has congratulated Binny for his maiden half-century and wants him to double it! Over 90 || Score 278/7 Stuart Binny took a single off Plunkett to reach his maiden half-century off 86 balls. It has been a significant innings from Binny who has played with ease. On the other end, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is batting yet again with a brilliant technique. India now lead by 239 runs with three wickets remaining. ============================================================== Over 85 || Score 254/7 The new ball did the magic for England as Anderson dismissed Jadeja off his second over with the new ball. Jadeja, who was looking to defend deliveries pitched outside the off-stump, edged one and Matt Prior held on to a good catch which travelled quickly at him. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the new man in. He batted brilliantly in the first innings and he will have to play a similar sort of innings to help his team save the Test match. RA Jadeja c Prior b Anderson 31 (98b) ============================================================== Over 80 || Score 244/6 Binny and Jadeja added another 14 runs in the last five overs. There is some lack of swing at the moment for the English bowlers. It's time to take the new ball and James Anderson should probably begin a new spell as England's search for that seventh wicket continues. The lead is now worth 205 runs. ============================================================== Over 75 || Score 230/6 These two have batted well after Dhoni's dismissal. The scoreboard read 184/6 when the Indian skipper was dismissed. India were in dire straits at that moment but these two, despite looking vulnerable at times, have made sure the team doesn't lose any more wickets. Jadeja scored two cracking boundaries off Plunkett's last over just before lunch. The lead is now worth 191 runs and the partnership has reached 46 runs. ============================================================== Over 70 || Score 211/6 Jadeja has somehow managed to stay at the crease. For the first time in his career, Jadeja has played more than 50 balls in a Test match. Stuart Binny on the other end has looked more comfortable at the crease. These two have added 27 runs for the seventh-wicket partnership. ============================================================== Over 65 || Score 196/6 Dhoni couldn't make much of the dropped chance and was bowled by Liam Plunkett. It was Plunkett's first delivery of the day where he got reverse-swing and Dhoni was clueless about that one. Stuart Binny is the new man in. Binny too has a good chance to play a formidable knock and prove his mettle at the international level. Jadeja got off the mark with a boundary off the 38th ball. He is living dangerously and the English bowlers are getting back into their groove. India lead by 157 runs. MS Dhoni b Plunkett 11 (30b) ============================================================== Over 60 || Score 183/5 England missed out on a big opportunity when skipper Cook dropped Dhoni's catch off Broad's bowling. It went straight into the hands of the England skipper who grassed it. Dhoni should now look to make the best out of the dropped chance. India need another big knock from their skipper as they are now in a precarious position. Ravindra Jadeja is the next man in and it is an excellent opportunity for him to silence critics who have been doubting his batting skills in the longest format of the game. ============================================================== Over 55 || Score 178/5 Broad got another breakthrough for his team when Rahane edged one to the keeper. It has been a dream start for England so far and Cook would now suddenly be thinking about winning the Test match. AM Rahane c Prior b Broad 24 (29b) ============================================================== Over 50 || Score 168/4 England struck early in the second over of the day when Kohli missed one from Broad and was trapped for just 8. It has been a forgettable Test for Kohli who has scored just nine runs from two innings. V Kohli lbw b Broad 8 (29b) ============================================================== The play will resume in a while as a result of some rain. The start of the fourth day was a very tiring one for the Indian team as James Anderson and Joe Root batted brilliantly and went onto to stitch a historic partnership of 198 runs for the tenth wicket. England`s ninth wicket fell at the score of 298 and they were still trailing by 159 runs. But the last pair frustrated the Indian bowling attack to the core and before Anderson was dismissed, England had taken a lead of 39 runs. In reply, India made a decent start as Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay added 49 runs for the first wicket, before Dhawan gave a return catch to Moeen Ali. Once the left-hander was dismissed, Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara added 91 runs for the second wicket. Vijay and Pujara were dismissed off consecutive balls when Vijay was stumped by Prior and Pujara hit the first ball of the next over to Stokes at point. The Test is heading towards a draw unless the English bowlers come up with something spectacular. Virat Kohli (8) and Ajinkya Rahane (18) were the two unbeaten batsmen at the crease and they would want to get some batting practice ahead of the second Test.
