# Root has been adjudged the Man of the Match for the third time in Tests, all at home - the first two were against Sri Lanka and Australia at Lord`s this year. # Broad`s splendid 37 off 21 balls is his highest Test score as number ten batsman, bettering the 33 vs Australia at Lord`s in 2013. # Gautam Gambhir has produced his worst batting performance in a Test series when he has played atleast two Tests - his tally being 25 in four innings at an average of 6.25. # India have recorded their third largest defeat in Tests - the largest being by an innings and 336 runs to the West Indies at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in 1958-59 and by an innings and 285 runs to England at Lord`s in 1974. # India have lost seven Tests by an innings and 200 runs - four against England. # India`s huge defeat at The Oval is the largest under Mahendra Singh Dhoni`s leadership. # England`s excellent victory by an innings and 244 runs is their second largest over India, next only to an Innings and 285 runs` victory at Lord`s in 1974.
