New Delhi: KL Rahul netted his 4th Test century in first innings of 5th Test between India and England in Chennai, playing literally every knock in the cricket book.
Indias makeshift opening pair of Lokesh Rahul and Parthiv Patel struck overcame the English test very well in morning session, giving a strong reply to England`s first innings total of 477 on day three.
On a track getting increasingly easier to bat on, Rahul and Patel combined to forge India`s first century-plus opening stand in 32 innings to help the hosts reach 173 for one at lunch.
Parthiv Patel and Cheteshwar Pujara had departed in quick succession as Rahul was partnered with skipper Virat Kohli as the former was cruising towards his hundred.
Rahul completed his ton with the help of an overthrow and as soon as Kohli realised that his partner is going to get extra runs to complete the ton, he started celebrating the feat as if he himself had got one.
Virat, who could only manager 15 runs before being dismissed by Stuart Broad, literally wears his heart on the sleeves and the same can be proven by watching this video.
