How not to get hit-wicket? Let's learn from Virender Sehwag

New Delhi: Virat Kohli on Saturday became a topic of many debates, mostly unwanted, when India captain got himself out with a hit-wicket on the penultimate day of first Test against England at Rajkot.

One such debate was going in the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium commentary box with Dean Jones, at his inquisitive best, asking Virender sehwag if he ever got out in this fashion.

Then, as a matter-of-factly, Viru responded, "you kidding? I never moved my feet!"

Yes, the former India opener had never got himself out hit-wicket, and it's also true that many have complained about Viru's footwork.

Pretty generous from the Nawab of Najafgarh, who is still the only Indian to have a triple hundred despite the said fallacy.

And Kohli should consider adopting Viru Paji's tactics, specially when playing against spin in India.

Kohli, expecting to score a big hundred, lost his wicket after one errant leg stepped into the roots of the stumps and tripped the bail in the 120th over of the India's first innings.

Kohli (40) departed hit-wicket, while trying to play a pull shot off the back-foot off the bowling off Adil Rashid. He thus became the 20th Indian batsman to be dismissed hit wicket in Tests.
