Virat Kohli's Dream Year: Here's how India captain dominated every Test he has played in 2016

With still a Test match to go before we say bye bye to 2016, he can sure create at least few more records.

New Delhi: Virat Kohli matched Indian legends Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid in one way or another as he continues to dominate world cricket with sublime batting and exceptional leadership.

On the third day of the fourth Test against England, he first became the only other Indian captain other than Gavaskar to score 500-plus runs. For the record, Gavaskar did it twice — did it twice: 1) 732 runs at 91.50 against West Indies in 1978-79 and 2) 500 at 62.50 against England in 1981-82.

Then, the 28-year-old crossed the 1000-run mark in 2016, thus equaling the record feats achieved by Tendulkar and Dravid – that of an Indian captain scoring thousand runs in a calendar year. Tendulkar scored 1000 runs in 1997 and Dravid scored 1095 runs in 2006.

But these records hardly summed up the year Kohli is having. And still a Test match to go before we say bye bye to 2016, he can sure create at least few more records.
