Vishakhapatnam: The 1st T20 between India and New Zealand was called off due to inclement rain. The match was much anticiapted for the return of Yuvraj Singh after surviving from rare germ cell cancer.
But it turned out to be an anti-climax as the game was abandoned due to heavy downpour without a ball being bowled.
Yuvraj Singh though spoke about his comeback journey:
"Amazing feeling. Thanks to god that I've got another chance. When I was going through my treatment, India was playing against Australia. I saw a couple of games and it was frustrating. I just concentrated on my health even though it was frustrating that I couldn't play for India. When I was diagnosed, we had the World Cup in our hand. The cancer was a big blow, I didn't want to tell myself that I had cancer. I got a lot of prayers and wishes from the whole of India. My passion is my game, the most important thing is to play for India. I'm back because of all the prayers. I have prepared very well. Initially when I started, it was tough on the body but I pushed myself hard. Being a sportsman, my muscle strength is coming back. It has been awesome to play with the boys. We've been playing tennis ball cricket inside the dressing room and it has been fun. I can't wait to get back to the field and play. Youwecan is my cancer charity, I just want to spread awareness and spread the message that 'if Yuvi can, you can'.
