After becoming Test captain, Virat Kohli continues to be haunted by this unwanted record

New Delhi: Virat Kohli has done a commendable job after taking over from MS Dhoni as India's Test skipper.

India have beaten Sri Lanka, South Africa and West Indies under the 27-year-old's leadership.

The Delhi batsman has led from the front in most of these matches. Apart from Kohli, spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have been standout performers especially on home soil.

Despite scoring several tons after taking charge as captain, one stat in particular continues to haunt Kohli.

The stylish right-hander is yet to register a ton in India after taking over the captaincy.

Virat's highest score at home came against South Africa at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.

He was dismissed on 88, thereby missing out a special ton at the ground where he started his career.

Virat could not deliver the goods in the 1st Test against New Zealand as well. In Kanpur, he was dismissed cheaply for 9 and 18 by the Kiwis.

Before becoming captain of the Test team, Kohli had three centuries under his belt. He scored them at Bengaluru (103), Nagpur (103) and Chennai (107).

Considering Kohli's class, there is no denying he will soon break this jinx.

His fans however, will hope that elusive ton comes in the next Test at the very iconic Eden Gardens.
