New Delhi: Virat Kohli has often been lauded for his ability with the bat, which has made many bowlers worldwide intimidated of facing him.

The 27-year-old, since taking over the captaincy role in Test cricket from retired MS Dhoni, has displayed that leadership is also one of his stronger traits.

But that's not all! During India's 250th home Test against New Zealand at Kolkata, Virat Kohli distributed silver coins to the two legends of Indian cricket – Zaheer Khan and Virender Sehwag.

The post-match show was being broadcasted on after India had won the second Test in Kolkata. Jatin Sapru was hosting the post-match show in the middle of the Eden Gardens stadium along with Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan - the two members of the commentary team for India – New Zealand series – when Virat Kohli suddenly intervened.

Kohli said, "the specially designed silver-coins are meant for Sehwag and Zaheer for their service towards the success of Indian cricket and both of them are worthy of the deserved honour.

Responding to Kohli, a smiling Zaheer said ‘Thank You Mr. Kohli’, but as always, a witty Sehwag said, “hope these are not the ones reserved for support staff’. Kohli replied ‘nahi bhaiya, ye aapke hi hai’ (no big brother, these are meant for you two only).

Kohli might be the captain of the squad now but he hasn't forgotten to value the commendable contribution Zaheer and Viru made for cricket in India.

The series has been a hugely memorable one for Indian cricket – first the 500th Test in Kanpur and then 250th home Test at Eden Gardens – hopefully the third Test in Indore will also bring amilestone as India wins series with a clean sweep on New Zealand.
