PAKISTAN: Overs : 20 II Score: 181/7 (Hafeez: 55, Dinda: 3/36)

Ah! The smile is returning to the faces in the Indian camp!!! India have beaten Pakistan by 11 runs to win the Ahmedabad T20I and level the series 1-1. Umar Gul was the last man to be dismissed after being caught by Rahane in the deep off Sharma.

The match has lived up to the expectations. Powered by a marauding innings from Yuvraj Singh who smashed seven sixes and four boundaries India posted an imposing target of 193 runs for the visiting Pakistani team. The visitors responded well and thanks to a brilliant innings from their captain Mohammaed Hafeez were threatening to take the match and the series away from their hosts. However, Dinda’s final over proved to be the deciding one as he removed Hafeez and Kamran Akmal to virtually seal the match in his team’s favour. What an entertaining match this has turned out to be. The focus now shifts to the 3-match ODI series that begins from 30th December.

Six runs and two wickets from the over.

====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 17 II Score: 152/3 (Hafeez: 46*, Afridi: 5*)

Ashok Dinda strikes!He has cleaned up Umar Akmal. The middle stump goes for a walk as Akmal walks back to the dugout after scoring 24 (14b, 4X1, 6X1). In comes Shahid Afridi and Dinda drops one short. Afridi is all over it and pulls it away to midwicket region for a boundary. Six runs and a wicket from the over.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 16 II Score: 146/2 (Hafeez: 45*, Akmal: 24*)

Mohammad Hafeez is carving Indian blowers with utter disdain! He has lifted Ishant’s first delivery for a beautiful six over extra cover region. The next four deliveries produced four singles while the final one was a dot. 10 runs from the over.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 15 II Score: 136/2 (Hafeez: 37*, Akmal: 22*)

Ashok Dinda’s second over has leaked 10 more runs! The first two deliveries have been played to long off and deep backward square leg region for four. The next two produce two singles. The required run rate is 11.40
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 14 II Score: 125/2 (Hafeez: 27*, Akmal: 21*)

Mohammad Hafeez is turning the heat on the Indians! The first two deliveries of the over have been deposited for two biggies by the skipper to midwicket region! Two sixes and three singles from Ashwin’s fourth over.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 13 II Score: 110/2 (Akmal : 20*, Hafeez: 13*)

Hafeez brings up the 100 runs for Pakistan with a late cut for boundary to third man. Akmal then steps out and powerfully drives it straight down the ground for four. 14 runs from the over.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 12 II Score: 96/2 (Akmal : 11*, Hafeez: 8*)

Kumar has been brought back into the attack. Mohammad Hafeez has magnificently played his second delivery over short fine leg for four. An expensive over from Kumar as he leaks 12 runs including a wide.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 11 II Score: 84/2 (Akmal : 9*, Hafeez: 0*)

India’s batting hero Yuvraj Singh has been handed the ball. Can he get a wicket? Well, Akmal thinks differently as he charges down the track and deposits it over long on fence. Stung by this Yuvraj comes back and outfoxes Shehzad to put brakes on his innings. He charged down the track but the ball escaped him and Dhoni did the rest behind. He scored 31 (29b, 4X3, 6X1). Nine runs and a wicket from the over.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 10 II Score: 74/1 (Shehzad: 29*, Akmal: 1*)

Finally a wicket for the hosts! Nasir Jamshed, has been caught by Virat Kohli off Ashwin. The flow of the boundary had stopped and the pressure of the run rate got to Jamshed as he lofted one towards point where Kohli accepted a simple catch. Jamshed scored 41 (32b, 4X4, 6X1). In walks Umar Akmal.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 9 II Score: 71/0 (Jamshed: 40*, Shehzad: 29*)

A welcome boundary for Pakistan as Shehzad lofts one over Raina’s head. Three singles off the next three and a dot to end the over.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 8 II Score: 63/0 (Jamshed: 39*, Shehzad: 23*)

A loud appeal from R Ashwin for lbw after Shehzad went for a sweep but the umpire turns it down. A look of disappointment on Ashwin’s face. He thinks that was out. However, replays confirm that umpire was right as it would have missed the off stump. Another good over for India. Just four from it.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 7 II Score: 59/0 (Jamshed: 37*, Shehzad: 21*)

Suresh Raina has been given the ball and will bowl from over the wicket. He does well and keeps the pair quiet giving away just five in his first over.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 6 II Score: 54/0 (Jamshed: 34*, Shehzad: 19*)

Dhoni turns to R Ashwin and he responds with a good first over under the circumstances. Six runs from it as Pakistan reach 54/0. Ashwin paused for a moment to bowl his final delivery and managed to fool Shehzad.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 5 II Score: 48/0 (Jamshed: 30*, Shehzad: 17*)

First bowling change of the innings as right-arm pacer Ashok Dinda comes in to bowl his first over of the match. Jamshed greets him with two consecutive boundaries off the first two deliveries. He took a single off the fourth delivery and Shehzad ended the over with another boundary over cover regions. A brilliant start to the chase from the visitors.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 4 II Score: 35/0 (Jamshed: 21*, Shehzad: 13*)

Whattay hit from Shehzad! Ishant dropped one short and Shehzad sent it sailing into the stands at deep midwicket region. His penultimate delivery produced another boundary for Jamshed as he flicked it to square leg region. 12 runs from the over.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 3 II Score: 23/0 (Jamshed: 16*, Shehzad: 6*)

An expensive over from Kumar! A six, a boundary, a couple and two singles from his second over. The six was actually a mis-hit from Jamshed as he danced down the track but it was a slower one. Still he managed to deposit it over long off boundary. The four came off the next delivery past short third man. 14 runs from the over.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Overs : 2 II Score: 9/0 (Jamshed: 3*, Shehzad: 5*)

Ishant Sharma will bowl his first and second over of the innings. He drops one short and wide, Shehzad says thank you very much punching it through point for a boundary. Sharma ensures it will be the only runs scored off him. Just a boundary from it.
====================================================================================

PAKISTAN: Over : 1 II Score: 5/0 (Jamshed: 3*, Shehzad: 1*)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar who made a sensational debut in the Bangalore T20I has begun the proceedings for India as Nasir Jamshed and Ahmed Shehzad take guard for Pakistan. The batting team will be in pressure as they have to score close to 10 an over right from the first over. The Indian bowlers have a golden chance to make an impact here and flex muscles. A good first voer from the youngster as he gives away just five.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 20 II Score: 192/5 (Yuvraj: 72, Gul: 4/37)

Hafeez has turned to Umar Gul to bowl the final over and prevent the Indians from swatting them so brutally and with disdain! He delivers with the wickets of both Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni. Yuvraj Singh departed after being caught at long off by Shoaib Malik. He departed after playing a blinder of an innings scoring 72 (4X4, 6X7). Next to depart was captain Dhoni who was bowled after getting an inside edge that uprooted his middle stump. In came Rohit Sharma to face the final delivery and Gul bowled a no ball. Ut was a free hit and Rohit took full advantage of it scoring a boundary.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 19 II Score: 184/3 (Yuvraj: 72*, Dhoni: 31*)

Yuvraj Singh has baked Saeed Ajmal for three consecutive sixes!!!! What a superb touch this man is in! When he is on song it doesn’t matter who is bowling or whether the man in front is the world’s leading T20I wicket taker. The first one came off a short delivery to deep backward square leg region. The next one was smashed to the same spot. The third one was over long on.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 18 II Score: 162/3 (Yuvraj: 53*, Dhoni: 28*)

Oh Yuvraj! You beauty!!! He is providing the capacity crowd a full entertainment. He has completed his fifty with back-to-back sixes. Sohail Tanvir has no clue where to pitch the ball. Yuvi is in destructive mood! The first six to midwicket and the second one a pull that was deposited to the same region. Hafeez is seen in an animated conversation with Tanvir. He comes back well and his next two deliveries produce just a single. However, Dhoni worsens his figures with a powerfully driven boundary off the final delivery. 18 runs from the over.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 17 II Score: 144/3 (Yuvraj: 40*, Dhoni: 23*)

Captain takes the matter into his hands. Mohammad Hafeez comes in to bowl his first over. The Indians aren’t sparing him either! Two boundaries off it. The first one was scored after a lousy effort from Irfan had the ball escaping through his legs at short fine leg. The second one too came off Yuvraj’s bat after the southpaw cut one that was short and outside off. 11 runs from the over.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 16 II Score: 133/3 (Yuvraj: 31*, Dhoni: 21*)

Umar Gul is back to bowl his stinging yorkers. However, he could dish out just one and that to off his last delivery. Before it, Dhoni was on song grilling him for three boundaries. The first one came off the first delivery towards fine leg. It was aleg bye. The next produced a double. The third one was a pull to midwicket region while the third one came off the next through extra cover. 15 runs from the over.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 15 II Score: 118/3 (Yuvraj: 31*, Dhoni: 10*)

Yuvraj has smoked Ajmal for a biggie! Ajmal floats it high and Yuvraj deposits it onto the stands for a six. The bowler makes amends and his next five produce just two singles. Eight runs from the over.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 14 II Score: 110/3 (Yuvraj: 24*, Dhoni: 9*)

Irfan reins in the Indians as his final over fetches just five runs. He has bowled his quota of four overs leaking just 20 runs but returning without a wicket. A good effort from the lanky pacer.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 13 II Score: 105/3 (Yuvraj: 23*, Dhoni: 5*)

MS Dhoni has made his intentions loud and clear. He is not going to play the waiting game as he gets off the mark by playing his first ball inside out through extra cover region for a four. Yuvraj then smashes the first six of the game to midwicket boundary. To add to Afridi’s woes, he scores another boundary off the fourth—a cheeky shot this from Yuvi as he opens the face very –very late to send it past the keeper. A big over for India as they collect 17 runs from it.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 12 II Score: 88/3 (Yuvraj: 11*, Dhoni: 0*,)

And this will be the end of Virat Kohli who walks to the dugout showing enough emotions to make you believe how angry he is at the mode of dismissal! He has been run out at the score of 27 (22b, 4X3). Yuvraj played one to short fine leg and called Kohli for a quick single. There was no way Kohli was going to make it safely. The only hope was if Ajmal missed his direct hit but that wasn’t the case. India lose their third wicket and in walks their skipper MS Dhoni.
====================================================================================

====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 11 II Score: 83/2 (Kohli: 23*, Yuvraj: 10*)

Shahid Afridi’s second over has produced 11 runs including two boundaries. The first one came from the bat of Kohli after he charged down the track and sent it over the bowlers’ head for a four. The next one came off the final delivery from the willow of Yuvraj. Afridi strays away from line and Yuvraj is quick to pounce on it sending it to deep backward square leg region for a boundary.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 10 II Score: 72/2 (Kohli: 17*, Yuvraj: 5*)

Saeed Ajmal back into the attack. Virat Kohli takes the aerial root off this second devilry and scores a boundary towards the cow corner. A boundary and four singles make it eight runs off the over for India.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 9 II Score: 64/2 (Kohli: 11*, Yuvraj: 3*)

The most capped T20I player in the world Shahid Afridi is introduced into the attack. The Indians need a partnership now and should not lose wickets like they did in the last match. Five singles from the over – three to Yuvi and two by Kohli.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 8 II Score: 59/2 (Kohli: 9*, Yuvraj: 0*)

Irfan is scorching the track! He bowls a toe crushing yorker that has literally hurt Yuvraj Singh. He looks in pain. Not good news for India. His previous delivery rose quite close to the batsman as he had to jump to avoid it. It continued soaring even after crossing the batsman as Akmal had to leap to gobble it cleanly. Meanwhile, he is back on his feet after some treatment from the physio. Virat Kohli ends the over with a beautifully timed straight drive for a boundary. Six runs from the over.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 7 II Score: 53/2 (Kohli: 4*, Yuvraj: 0*)

Fifty up for India! It took them 32 deliveries. Meanwhile, a BIG BLOW for India as Ajinkya Rahane has been dismissed by Gul. It was a short delivery and Rahane went in for the pull a bit early as it was bowled a bit slow. It took the toe end of the bat and landed safely into the hands of the bowler. Rahane scored 28 (26b, 4X4). In walks Yuvraj Singh.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 6 II Score: 48/1 (Rahane: 25*, Kohli: 2*)

Leading wicket take in T20I Saeed Ajmal introduced into the attack. As per his reputation, the two Indians in the middle have played him cautiously restraining from playing any risky stroke. His overs will be crucial for both the teams – India will have to make sure to play him safely. Just four runs from his first over.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 5 II Score: 44/1 (Rahane: 23*, Kohli: 0*)

Right arm pacer Umar Gul replaces Irfan. Gambhir gives him a cold reception with three consecutive boundaries. The first one was a result of a thick outside edge, the next was played square of the wicket while the third one was an attempted hook that flew over keeper for the third boundary. However, a clever change of pace put a full stop to Gambhir’s innings as he was trapped in front. He scored 21. India have lost their first wicket. A good comeback from Gul as he gets his revenge. In walks Virat Kohli at No. 3.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 4 II Score: 31/0 (Gambhir: 11*, Rahane: 22*)

Rahane loves hitting boundaries and collects them at a brisk pace. He has hit Tanvir for two back-to-back boundaries over point and to fine leg region. The first one took aerial route to cross the fence while the next one was played fine. 11 runs from the over.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 3 II Score: 21/0 (Gambhir: 9*, Rahane: 12*)

Good over from Irfan. The fielding of the Pakistani team has been topnotch! Gambhir got a taste of it as his effort to steal a single was met with a quick throw from Umar Akmal off the first delivery. Just four runs from the over.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Overs: 2 II Score: 17/0 (Gambhir: 7*, Rahane: 10*)

Sohail Tanvir has been driven terrifically by Gautam Gambhir through covers for a boundary. It was outside off and Gambhir latched on to it like a hungry tiger! Rahane then scored the second boundary of the over through covers off the third delivery. The quick outfield aided his shot crossing the fence. 10 runs from the over.
====================================================================================

INDIA: Over: 1 II Score: 7/0 (Gambhir 2*, Rahane: 5*)

Mohammad Irfan aka ‘The Giant’ has begun the proceedings for Pakistan as Ajinkya Rahane and Gautam Gambhir take guard for India. Rahane has scored a beautiful boundary through point. Seven runs from the over.
====================================================================================

TOSS: India have lost the toss and will be batting first.

TEAM NEWS: India have made one change in Ravindra Jadeja. R Aswhin replaces him. On the other hand, Pakistan are going with the same side.
====================================================================================

India will lock horns with Pakistan in the second and final Twenty20 international in Ahmedabad on Friday. Buoyed by their five-wicket win over the hosts, Pakistan will be looking to seal the series by winning this fixture as well while India will aim to leave the bittersweet memories of the last encounter and draw level.

India suffered a five-wicket drubbing in the series opener in Bangalore after a middle-order collapse, which saw the hosts struggle to 130 for nine after being 77 for nil at one stage. Only Gautam Gambhir and Ajinkya Rahane made significant contributions to the total while others wasted no time in occupying and leaving the crease.

They seemed to gain an upper hand when debutant Bhuvneshwar Kumar rocked their top order by claiming three quick wickets. However, after that led by captain Mohammad Hafeez and experienced Shoaib Malik, Pakistan successfully achieved the target with five wickets in hand and two balls to spare.

TEAMS

India: Gautam Gambhir, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni(w/c), Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Ashok Dinda

Pakistan: Nasir Jamshed, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Hafeez(c), Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal(w), Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanvir, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Mohammad Irfan
