South Africa seal the series 2-0. UPDATE: The Indian innings has been delayed due to rain. South Africa innings: Over 50 || Score 301/8 After two brilliant knocks from Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers, David Miller who was under pressure to do well played a brilliant cameo and it was his 34-ball 56 that took the hosts past the 300-run mark. Miller remained unbeaten at the end of the innings and for the third consecutive time in the series, South Africa have put more than 300 runs on the board. VD Philander b Mohammed Shami 0 (1b) WD Parnell c RG Sharma b Mohammed Shami 9 (8b) R McLaren c Yadav b I Sharma 6 (10b) ==================================================================================== Over 45 || Score 257/5 AB de Villiers too perished after reaching his century and was dismissed by Umesh Yadav who picked his first wicket of the match. Proteas have scored 44 runs in the last five overs. David Miller and Ryan McLaren are the two new batsmen at the crease. AB de Villiers lbw b Yadav 109 (133m 101b) ==================================================================================== Over 40 || Score 213/4 Quinton de Kock reached his third consecutive ton within no time and he has become the first wicketkeeper batsman to have scored three successive ODI centuries. De Kock was finally dismissed by Ishant as he tried to make some room for himself on the leg side, missed the line and was bowled. AB his batting on 41 and it could be another big knock from the skipper himself. Q de Kock b I Sharma 101 (120b) ==================================================================================== Over 35 || Score 168/3 Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers are now dealing mostly in sixes. They have seen enough of the Indian bowlers and they are slamming them for massive sixes every now and then. The partnership is now of 140 runs and the damage continues. De Kock is now just two runs short of his third consecutive century, what a series he has had! ==================================================================================== Over 30 || Score 134/3 India continue to search for their fourth breakthrough as AB and de Kock are now settled down and they are back to punishing the Indian bowlers. The partnership has swollen to 106 runs. Not good signs for the Indian bowlers. ==================================================================================== Over 25 || Score 107/3 AB and de Kock are now rebuilding the innings as they have now added unbeaten 79 runs for the fourth wicket. Those two dropped chances would probably prove to be too costly for India as de Kock is now batting on 57. The left-hander is now playing his strokes with ease and looks all set for another big knock. AB is batting on 31. ==================================================================================== Over 20 || Score 80/3 Indian team missed out on a big opportunity when Quinton de Kock pulled a short ball towards short fine leg where Ajinkya Rahane dropped a catch! De Kock was batting on 37 when he was dropped by Rahane. After a few overs, de Kock smashed one from Ashwin towards long-on where Yuvraj Singh ran back from mid-on and got under the ball, but grassed it at the last moment. De Kock now has two lives! That could prove to be very costly as he is in tremendous form. These two have now added unbeaten 52 runs for the fourth-wicket partnership. ==================================================================================== Over 15 || Score 60/3 Skipper AB de Villiers and in-form Quinton de Kock are in the process of rebuilding the innings after the early losses. De Kock hasn’t played too many aggressive strokes today, but every now and then, he is hitting one of those boundaries which give you the feeling of what a fine form he is in at the moment. This will be a key partnership for the hosts as the batsmen to follow – David Miller, Ryan McLaren aren’t in the best of form. AB and de Kock have added unbeaten 32 runs for the fourth-wicket partnership. ==================================================================================== Over 10 || Score 38/3 Ishant Sharma bowled a brilliant fourth over where he picked two wickets, first of Hnery David followed by the wicket of in-form JP Duminy. Davids defended a ball that moved away after pitching and Suresh Raina at second slip took a good catch diving to his left. Sharma bowled a similar delivery to Duminy who too edged it towards the slip cordon and on this occasion, Raina took an even better low catch diving to his right. The Indian pacers have bowled well so far and Ishant in particular is pitching the ball in the right channels. AB de Villiers and de Kock are at the crease. JP Duminy c Raina b I Sharma 0 (3b) H Davids c Raina b I Sharma 1 (6b) ==================================================================================== Over 5 || Score 22/1 South Africa got their side to a decent start. The duo of Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla have given their side two terrific starts in the first two matches and their wicket was the key for the Indian pacers. Hashim Amla hit two boundaries in the first four overs, while de Kock made a slow start and then scored two boundaries off Umesh Yadav’s second over. Mohammad Shami was introduced in the fifth over and he struck in his first over as Amla was surprised by a low full-toss and he worked it straight to Yuvraj Singh at square leg. Henry Davids is the new man in. Good start for India considering the way they had to struggle for the first breakthrough in the last two matches. HM Amla c Yuvraj Singh b Mohammed Shami 13 (16b) ==================================================================================== TOSS: South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. Centurion: While the match is a dead rubber in terms of result of the series, India will want to salvage some pride when they take on South Africa in the third and final ODI of the series. The MS Dhoni-led squad which is currently the number one in the ICC ODI rankings have been struggling to find their momentum right through the series. While the South African batsmen have a made a mockery of their bowling line up, the batsmen still haven’t acclimatized to the seaming conditions. How bad has been the form of the Indian batsmen can be ascertained from the fact that while the hosts have had three centuries hit from their side, the highest score by an Indian so far in the series has been 65 – scored by the India skipper in the first ODI. On the other hand, South Africa would want to win the final ODI in style in order to register a 3-0 clean sweep over the visitors. The Proteas openers – Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla are in sublime form and the duo has made the job easier for the middle-order batsmen by getting their side to rollicking start in both the ODIs. De Kock, in particular, has been phenomenal as he hit two consecutive centuries in the series. The Proteas pace attack has made Indian batsmen look mediocre on their home ground and they would want to continue with the same to gain huge confidence ahead of the Test series.
