New Delhi: Thus far, most of the strategies have worked in South Africa's favour, who are on a long tour of India. The visitors first clinched the three-match T20 series 2-0, followed by 3-2 series win in ODIs.
Interestingly, Proteas announced three different skippers in all three formats for the tour. Faf du Plessis was made the T20 skipper, while AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla were named the ODI and Test skippers respectively.
It means, under the captaincy of Faf and AB, South Africa emerged victorious in two different limited-overs formats.
Now the Saffers have to play four-match Test series, starting November 5, under the leadership of Amla.
Faf and AB, both are in good nick with the bat and have performed exceptionally well thus far on the tour. In fact, on most occasions they led the side with examples.
However, Amla is struggling with the willow and couldn't really manage to play a single impressive knock in the on-going 72-day long tour. In last seven matches the right-hander accumulated mere 127 runs.
Now the pressure would be on the 32-year-old, not only to get his lost form back but also to lead the side from the front and help Saffers register a clean sweep in all three formats, something which would be shocking for the hosts and their fans.
