New Delhi: Explosive South African batsman AB de Villiers has been in news ever since the South African team arrived in India for the long tour of 72 days.
The 31-year-old is certainly the biggest threat for Indian bowlers. On top of it, his huge fan base in this part of the world gives him a major boost, courtesy to the Indian Premier League for which he visits the country every year.
Arguably the best batsman of limited-overs cricket, AB has enhanced his reputation thus far on this tour by playing two decisive knocks in three matches against the hosts.
In fact his captain's knock in the first ODI at Kanpur, where he completed his ton off the last ball of the innings will certainly enhance his popularity further.
Leaving R Ashwin aside, no other Indian bowler has managed to trouble the batsman. The way he is milking away the Indian bowlers, is an indicator that Team India have to come out with a full-proof plan against the gifted player.
With Ashwin injured, and all other bowlers looking average in front of AB, skipper MS Dhoni has a task in hand to stop the South African, who is looking unstoppable at the moment.
