Team India carried forward confidence from Australia tour: Virat Kohli

New Delhi: After clinching the four-match Test series 3-nil on Monday by beating South Africa on fifth day of the Kotla Test, skipper Virat Kohli gave the credit to team's work ethic and pointed out to the confidence Team India gained during its last Test series in Australia.

“Test is the format where we have been trying to do well in. We showed a lot of character in Australia. The way we played was quite commendable. And that gave us a lot of belief that we can be a champion team.

“We played as a unit in Australia and carried forward the confidence to Sri Lanka and now here,” stated jubilant Kohli during the post match conference after the fourth and final Test of the Freedom series.

Kohli also highlighted team's work ethic.

“We are not focusing too much on what people are saying. We are rather focusing on our work ethics and playing as a unit.”

The 3-0 series win also enabled India to climb up to No 2 in the ICC Test rankings.
