India vs Sri Lanka: Mohammed Shami's injury big blow for Team India

New Delhi: Mohammed Shami, one of the major weapons in MS Dhoni's arsenal for last couple of years, was ruled out of the first three ODIs against Sri Lanka due to an injury.

Though, it still not disclosed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) yet, that what kind of injury the speedster has suffered and how serious it is.

The only information the Indian board provided was the name of Dhawal Kulkarni, who has replaced the injured bowler, in the series starting from November 2.

Indian skipper MS Dhoni, has already been rested for the first three matches, Rohit Sharma too is nursing his injuries. With Shami's injury now it's certainly a big blow for Team India.

Considering the fact that, the 24-year-old seamer is the highest wicket-taker for India in this calendar year with 38 wickets to his kitty, his absence will surely going to hurt India, especially in the death overs.

In fact, in the last ODI series, which India played against West Indies, he was the most successful bowler with ten scalps in three matches at an average of 17.40.

As the ICC World Cup is mere few months away, MS Dhoni & Co would be hoping that the injury of one of their prime seam bowlers wouldn't be a severe one.
