Brisbane: Sri Lanka defeated India at Brisbane by 51 runs to gain valuable points with a game to spare on Tuesday.

A late surge from Sri Lankan lower order propelled them to their highest score of 289/6 at Gabba in the eighth ODI of the CB series on Tuesday.
Angelo Mathews (49*) and Farveez Maharoof (4*) were on the crease at the end of the innings as Indian team leaked 91 runs in the final 10 overs.
For Sri Lanka, Lahiru Thirimanne top scored with 62 followed by Dilshan (51). For India, Irfan Pathan and R Ashwin took two wickets apiece.
