Perth: Statistical highlights after the one-day international between India and Sri Lanka at the WACA, on Wednesday.

  • Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene have completed their 2,000 runs against India in Limited-Overs Internationals. The six players with 2,000 runs or more against India in this format are: Sanath Jayasuriya (2899), Inzamam-ul-Haq (2403), Ricky Ponting (2151), Kumar Sangakkara (2020), Mahela Jayawardene (2012) and Saeed Anwar (2002).
  • Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli have shared a stand of 75 for the second wicket - India`s highest at Perth.
  • Suresh Raina (24) has recorded his highest innings in Australia in ODIs.
  • For the first time in ODIs, two double centurions - Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag - have opened an innings.
  • Ashwin`s unbeaten 30 off 38 balls is his second highest against Sri Lanka - highest is 38 at Harare on June 5, 2010.
  • Ashwin has captured three wickets apart from posting 30 or more in the same match for the second time - the first occasion being against England - 36 not out + 3/40 - at The Oval on September 9, 2011.
  • Ashwin has been adjudged the Man of the Match for the first time in ODIs.
  • Sri Lanka (233/8) have equalled their previous best total at WACA, Perth. They had recorded a similar total against Australia on January 29, 2006.
  • Sri Lanka`s aforesaid total is their second highest against India in Australia, behind the 238 for six at Adelaide on February 19, 2008.
  • India have won three consecutive games against Sri Lanka in Australia for the first time - by 2 wickets at Adelaide; by 7 wickets at Hobart - both in February 2008 and by 4 wickets at WACA Ground, Perth on February 8, 2012.
  • India (234/6) have posted their highest total at WACA Ground, Perth, surpassing the 227 against England on February 22, 1992.
  • India`s above score is their second highest successful chase against Sri Lanka in Australia, next only to the 239 for eight at Adelaide on February 19, 2008.
  • Sachin Tendulkar became the first batsman to complete 3,000 runs against Sri Lanka in Limited-Overs Internationals, totalling 3031 at an average of 45.23 in 80 ODIs.
  • Since he has 3,060 (ave.45.67) to his credit in 69 matches against Australia, Sachin has become the first batsman to manage 3,000 runs or more against two countries in ODIs.
  • Sachin, in fact, has totalled 2,000 runs or more against four nations - the only batsman to accomplish the feat in ODIs. Apart from his tallies against Australia and Sri Lanka, he has made 2,000 runs against South Africa (2001) and Pakistan (2474).
  • Virat Kohli (77) has posted his sixth fifty against Sri Lanka - his 19th in ODIs.

  • The seventh-wicket unbroken stand of 53 between Ashwin and Jadeja is a record for India against Sri Lanka in Australia - the highest ever is 82 (unbroken) between Dhoni and Raina at Pune on November 3, 2005.
  • Ravichandran Ashwin (3/32) has recorded his best bowling performance against Sri Lanka, eclipsing the 2 for 50 at Harare on June 5, 2010. His figures are his best on foreign soil in ODIs, bettering the 3 for 40 against England at The Oval on September 9, 2011.
  • Zaheer Khan (2/44) has recorded his best bowling performance in ODIs in Australia, bettering the 8-0-46-2 for Asia XI against ICC World XI at Melbourne on January 10, 2005.
  • Dinesh Chandimal (64 off 81 balls) has posted his second consecutive innings of 50-plus against India. In his previous innings, he had posted 111 off 118 balls at Harare on June 5, 2010.
  • Dhoni is the first Indian wicketkeeper to effect two stumpings in an ODI at WACA, Perth. He is the third Indian wicketkeeper to effect two stumpings in an ODI in Australia, joining Sadanand Viswanath and Chandrakant Pandit.
